ATTENTION ALL MFTs IN MICHIGAN You Are Needed!! Michigan Senate Bill 5 (SB5) is going before the Senate Health Policy Committee by way of a hearing. This is our chance for change! We will be able to testify…
We need every Licensed MFT in Michigan to show their support for this important legislation. MAMFT has been building toward this opportunity for a formal hearing over the past few years. Due to the magnitude that this hearing and bill have on the practice of all MFTs, it is essential that we have as much representation as possible. If you are new to this legislative process, it is quite a unique experience. In previous years, clinicians have briefly visited with legislators to talk about the needs and practice of MFTs. Do not be intimidated by the idea of getting involved with a political process. You will have the support of other clinicians and your MAMFT Board to walk you through every step. Lobby Day provides a great networking opportunity to meet other clinicians from your area and to feel connected to the state organization. You will have time to visit with colleagues over lunch provided by MAMFT. This is a particularly exciting time for participation as the Senate Bill will be voted on this year and your efforts will make a significant difference. As practitioners, we understand how difficult it is to give up your valuable time; please consider that this legislation will impact your livelihood in a positive way for many years to come. Our success depends on you – please join us for a wonderful day of celebrating MFT in Michigan! 1.
